DON'T BE FOOLED: TrumpRx Scams Are Here! 🛑💊

Akhilesh Sharma

With the official launch of the government’s new drug-pricing portal, we are already seeing reports of fake websites and phishing emails designed to steal your Medicare numbers and credit card info.

Here are 4 red flags to watch for right now:

  1. The URL Check: The ONLY official site is www.TrumpRx.gov. If the link ends in .com, .net, or .org, it is a fake.

  2. No "Processing Fees": Accessing the portal is free. If a site asks you for an "activation fee" or a "processing fee" to see the lower prices, close the tab immediately.

  3. The Medicare Number Trap: No one from the government or TrumpRx will call, text, or email you asking for your Medicare ID or Social Security number. Legitimate purchases are handled directly through verified manufacturer sites (like Pfizer or Eli Lilly) after you've been redirected.

  4. "Magic" Cures: Scammers are using AI to create ads claiming TrumpRx covers "miracle cures" for everything from Alzheimer's to terminal illnesses. If the price or the promise seems too good to be true, it likely is.

What to do if you're unsure: Always start at the official .gov address. If you receive a suspicious call, hang up and report it to the HHS-OIG Hotline at 1-800-HHS-TIPS.
